Independent Tutorial: IllustratorStudent will practice their basic skills in Illustrator by following various Online Tutorial exercises to create amazing visual images.

Drop CapStudents will utilize their knowledge of Adobe Illustrator to create a unique font based on the their initials of their name (first and last). The fonts will have a theme present, in total, students are asked to create a total of two font letters. This project will allow students to present their creativity and exercise their skills.

Food CombinationStudents will be asked to create a combination of two food items as one figure (ex. Avocado with the insides of a kiwi) Students will then name the creation and produce it as a poster. This assignment will utilize the skills they learned in both tutorials and in class demonstration and present their knowledge in the program and layout design.

Independent Tutorial: PhotoshopStudent will practice their basic skills in Illustrator by following various Online Tutorial exercises to create amazing visual images.

Power of ElectionStudents will choose 2 historical figures that they will then create a political campaign. They will create a promotional poster for the two historical figures as well as one poster that include both figures (again one another). (**Total of 3 poster designs) Students are to think about the intended audience of the era that it is produced for, overall emotional impact and success. In this project, students will research and create their own political sign, while in the process, showcasing what they learned about typography, layout design, Adobe Illustrator, In-Design, and/or Photoshop.

Package DesignStudents are asked to create their own package design of a common product (at least 3 different looks). They will also include a business card (front and back) for the design as their own “company”. This project will allow students to utilize all their learning where they complete and show their knowledge of typography, layout, aesthetics, advertising, and knowledge of the programs learned.
